sometimes..
it's just the way the we catch the light..
or don't
the way we hold our cup to the light
the way we angle it
that we get the deepest gold
or the weepiest shadows
sometimes there is no angle or effort we can make
to shoo it's gray away
or buff it's glittering gold to stay…
all the same
sometimes
it really is how we hold ourselves in the light..
sometimes
it is where we place ourselves in the light
or in the shadows
that help us to hold a bowl of dark
or of bright
