We have this enormous sign
in our front lawn
AS
you enter...
and it's pretty IMPOSSIBLE to miss.
it is from the old owners..
and
because
we are on
such a TIGHT budget,
we've
decided to NOT get our own "new" sign,
but rather, paint this one and make it new!
because we aren't THIS
We are Blessings Farm!
That said,
every hearty out door painting job should have a few things:
roller on a pole
lots of primer
(I used the higher VOC because I had it..
and it got me sick when I used it indoors
so I switched to SmartPrime by Zissner for indoor use)
paint brushes that are on their last leg
and kids
well..
I have all that & Wally the Wheel Barrel too!
We loaded Wally up and headed to the Sign
work apparel on...
because
THIS Mama
is ready for a big mess!
here they come!
Princess is opening them up
(most are half empty, there is only one full)
and getting things organized..
I gave her and the boys instructions
and am stepping back to SEE what happens
REALLY Mama?
I get to paint too?
oh my
it left a big white line on the pole!
seems sharing paint gets stressful with brothers..
WHO KNEW?
we only swipe DOWNWARD
we are VERY drippy
but..
we are ever so diligent
"hmmm.
how does MY pole compare to Buddy's? "
well..
Buddy struggles with the MESSY-ness of it all
he likes messy
on HIS terms.
THESE
drips
and
occasional bugs
all
mixed in
with dirt
is
well.. should we say..
"questionable..."
why can't we do watercolor again?
Princess is painting the ACTUAL sign portion of this
great
important and rather fun
assignment
someone is getting plenty of paint on
his HAIR
yes...
and face,
hmm
and pants
yep,
and his shirt
no
it's not a lolly pop
please do not lick this
please note how far Little man has gotten as he
SMEARS
SLATHERS
and smudges paint EVERYWHERE
as compared to Buddy
who is REALLY focusing
and trying to do an excellent job...
it makes me giggle...
yep Buddy thinks its hot and is sitting to get that paint on the bottom..
he is really focusing
maybe he needs MORE paint on his brush
oh it's starting to look good
blissful summer days
hard work on the farm!
loving the attention to detail
What is this?
gee is anyone watching?
goody!
it's a water bucket!!
splashing is SO wonderful!
did that just happen?
Did Little Man
paint
on
Buddy's beam?
oh my!
this could be WAR!
Princess got him BACK to his own
JUST in time
averting any potential drama
before it could be unfolded...
Three things needed painting..
Two beams and the sign they hold up....
Buddy figured if ANYONE needed help
it would be
Little Man..
certainly not..
himself...
well...
guess not!
another project
IN
PROCESS!!!!!!!!
