Another Assembly day!

Once again they are in that Huddled position..
talking quietly among themselves..
ya just KNOW it's a larger piece of furniture
when C.S. is involved..
Princess usually jumps at anything in her zone..
but she is elsewhere..
and C.S. is quite focused
it's a bed!
yep a super fun day bed!
we are very excited about this..
because it is for the LL Guest Room
which is slowly coming together
We wanted a bed that could be used as a couch
or pulled out and used for couples
well..
particular couples
and friends of ours that are more
or less
not at an eager age to go up and down
old farmhouse stairs
in middle of the night
to use the ONE bath..
so it is for our more MATURE friends..
we are putting together THIS room!
getting more of a day bed gives us a lot of options as to how to use
the room when it isn't being used for guests..
still looking for the pillows and comforter
LOOK
that I want this room to have
but for now..
I think it looks SUPER!
Thank you my love
and my lad!

They're almost HERE!

It was NEARLY the weekend..
and something like a flurry of activity is happening here
sweeping
last minute projects
it's
well..
a flurry!
See My wonderful BROTHER
and my delightful Nephew (Tenderfoot)
and my darling niece (Ina)
were
coming for the long weekend
for a vacation..
The farmhouse has come along SO wonderfully..
but we need to CLEAN up
and wrap up some loose ends
for it to feel like a vacation to anyone..
THAT and..
we'll be taking down the porch..
(not such a fun vacation-ee thing to be doing)
oh
and
it was garage sale day..
guess what I found!
are you totally digging the groovy chairs?
They are ancient..
(1960's?)
they swivel too!
We found them at a barn sale
the fabric is in great condition..
and they are cozy to sit in...
we vacuumed them up and
have to decide if we just keep them
"till..."
or if we actually fix them up..
but either way at $5 each..
they buy me time
and a couple places to pop a squat
(in a not on a fold out camping chair way)
but you are probably wondering what is in front of
said 'GROOVY CHAIRS"...
Princess, working on the last of the small assembly projects
for the kitchen..
Its a tower..
to go next to the refrigerator..
Because of needing to OPEN the refrigerator..
we needed enough space between IT and the wall..
and being as I don't like useless space..
We purchased this super tower to use for
additional storage!
isn't it tall!
I can fit a rice cooker on there NO problem
and other wonderful things
giving me more space to use in the
PANTRY!
(have I mentioned how exciting all this is?)
Princess is all about precision..
her Fathers daughter
and all that
next?
a whirlwind of family fun
a "mini break" to see some local sites
and...
a porch removal..
WHO KNOWS
WHAT
might happen!

Assembling a wee little work cart!

We needed a wee work cart for the kitchen..
something
to slide next to the stove whilst we are cooking,
or use in other ways..
An
AS NEEDED CART
if you will...
Garage sailing hasn't produced quite the size needed...
but IKEA did !
So I had this ASSEMBLY JOB
and
seeing as I have some qualified persons here to ASSEMBLE for me
...one of my wee assemblers got a job to do !
That wee assembler did the job quite well I must say!
Are you wondering who?
Well look at that detail..
Do you THINK Buddy is up for the challenge?
Do you think it's more Princess's speed?
or Rather do you think C.S. found time?
Remember
it's a SOLO job.
Machine Man was NOT here
only the Mama was.
(clearing throat- preparing to confess...)
and I will confess that THIS Mama...
is
NOT so gifted at assembly.
(never properly trained.. you understand.)
The ASSEMBLER was Princess!
YEP!
She's at it again!
When I told the kids there was 2 small jobs left to assemble
that I thought were in the realm of NOT needing the Papa...
She JUMPED at the chance to do another assembly project
remember Welcome Back Kotter?
oo oo ooh PICK ME! PICK ME!
WELL
she got the job!
and I would say she did a GREAT JOB!
I am certain you'll be seeing a lot of this little cart
as we start cooking in that kitchen ..
Guess what is coming to our house!!!
propane!
(I know.. PINCH ME!
So very exciting isn't it?)
