Future Hunters???

it IS that time of year again

bow hunting..

soon rifle hunting

it's HUNTING SEASON!!!

yes even the toddler is donned with 

ORANGE..

Why?

well for all of you who do not hunt

and may not be aware..

Orange is a safety color

we wear it through out hunting season

to be SAFE

.. 

what if a bow hunter saw some scurrying in the woods

what if it was low profiled 

and dressed in green camp..

that hunter might SHOOT my baby!

So ..

in this orange 

he shall be SEEN

if he should escape the General

this Orange is blaring!

it's actually called

BLAZE ORANGE

it's required for every hunter to wear it during deer hunting season

it's smart for even non hunters to wear..

when out hiking or walking about..

it is just..

SAFE

Little Man LOVES his "Blaze Orange" 

hat

and vest..

he feels SUPER big!

very authoritative too..

a hobbit..

This year, Princess participated in

the

 YOUTH HUNT

this was quite the ta too!

See last year she shadowed 

or did what is referred to as

the MENTORSHIP program 

under Machine Man

this year..

it's HER turn to hunt..

and 

this year

we don't just have Papa

aka Machine Man

eager to teach and guide..

we have

MR. T

gruff

and loving

hard

and yet so tender and kind

this new friend

is a friend indeed

and is quite taken with all the blessings!

He is eager to share his stand

and show our young huntress the ropes

to equip her with wise counsel

and sage experience

of an seasoned hunter

While youth hunt was just ONE weekend

the big deer season is nearly upon us

and 

this year

I will have three hunters in my family

increasing my chances of venison in the freezer..

and I can NOT tell you how thrilled the idea of that makes me..

organic

free range

venison

killed in a human, sportsmanlike fashion

rather than..

the alternative...

whilst Princess did not get a deer 

during the Youth hunt this year..

she gained valuable experience..

missed a shot

and has her own story to tell now

a story to add to the firelight chats

and late night hunting tales.

we have so many butterflies

it's just so lovely

watching them hovering all about

doing their butterfly dance

resting and supping awhile on a blossom..

one for Archery

one is for guns

one is for bbguns

Little Man isn't allowed ANY where near them..

but he is really hoping to be one of the Merry Men too!
